11th Annual Sammy’s International Meatball Festival
2023 Contestant Information
The Boys & Girls Club of Cathedral City is hosting the International Meatball Festival.
It is a fun filled event with music, food, wine, beer, raffle prizes, games and Kids Zone. We greatly
appreciate your participation and we look forward to teaming up with you to support
our local Boys & Girls Club of Cathedral City (BGCCC).
◆ VIRTUAL COMPETITION ◆
Virtual Event: from Monday, March 13, 2023 thru
Saturday, April 1, 2023
There will be a virtual competition for those who are out of town or are unable to make the in-person event.
Contestant's make a short 2-3 minute video preparing your favorite meatball recipe, submit the video to the Club, and we will post the video on the Club’s website and your own personal fundraising web page. Contestants then ask Friends and Family to vote for their favorite Chef or meatball. Each vote is $1.
Prizes will be awarded for Most Individual Donors & Most Money Raised.

In-Person Event @ BGCCC

Time: 12:00pm - 4:00pm
venue will be open for set-up at 10:30am
We are so excited to back in-person for this wonderful festival. As a Meatball Competitor, come out and make you
favorite meatball and go head-to-head for a judged competition as well as for the People’s Choice voting.
Whose Meatball will reign supreme? All winners in all categories announced at 3:50pm
People’s Choice: Winner is highest vote count. Attendees will be given one vote for Regular Tickets
and 2 votes for VIP Tickets. More votes are available for purchase ($1 each).
Judging: Prizes for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place
Cash prize for Amateur and Professional: 1st - $200; 2nd - $100; 3rd - $50
Judging based on Appearance, Aroma, Taste, Umami, and Overall Enjoyment
Contestants will be furnished with the following:
· 6-foot draped table
· Single burner plate with canister · Napkins and appetizers toothpicks
· Electricity may not be available Contestant Responsibility:
· Meatballs - 200 small or 100+ medium (cut in half) · Serving/cutting utensils
· Meatballs must arrive ready to serve · Table Signage and decorations
Do not serve anyone without a Meatball Tasting Ticket
